The dimension that impresses me the most is the Power Distance difference between Ecuador and USA; the difference between rates is that, Ecuador’s rate is twice of USA’s rate, meaning that even though there are social differences within the population we agree or live with that “discrimination”. This means that even we know that there are people with more power and status than others and that they feel special and different than the rest of people and we all live with it as nothing. But in USA even though there are this differences it is not as accepted as in Ecuador.
The most interesting topic is: the individualism. United States has 91 points and Ecuador has 8 points in the reference chart. I think that United States has a very competitive attitude in business, and also on a personal level, that's why each day compete with each other to become better, but this can have negative results in companies such as bad working environment , fights between workers, poor communication. For this reason, i believe that Ecuadorians are more friendly and try to have a good working environment with our colleagues, if there is any difficulty we help each other to succeed together. But I think that, it depends on the culture in which each person develops and acquires customs throughout life.
The dimension that impacted me most was Individualism. We scored 8 points in that dimension, which means that Ecuadorians are very collectivistic people. On the other hand, Americans are very individualistic people (they score 91). I think, sometimes it is more important for us cultivating good relationships than any other obligation that we could have. But, for Americans the important thing is accomplishing their responsibilities all the time. In fact, it is good to belong to a group and to look for other people welfare and not only for us. Also, at the same time, we should look the way to realize ourselves as individuals and as a group.
The dimension that impressed me most was Individualism because Ecuador has a score of 8 and United States has 91. This is a big rate of difference. Then, Ecuadorians like to work as a group always looking for help and joint goals, while Americans are looking to do things for themselves. For me, any two points is not so good, because it should be a balance between individualism and collectivism. There are times where everyone has to do and look for things by ourselves but that does not mean we do not need someone else to help us or at least to give us your opinion of what we do.
The dimension that impacted me most was the individualism, as in Ecuador has an 8, while the U.S. has 91. With this result we can say that Ecuador is a more united and that the Ecuadorians we enjoy working together. On the other hand the United States seeks to achieve its objectives alone. I think it's important to know that we will always be together with people so that we should have a good relationship with each person who is around us, but more important is to know that people are not self-sufficient and always need someone's help more.
The dimension that impacted me most was Individualism because the United States, with a score of 91 on this dimension, is a highly individualistic culture. While Ecuador, with a score of 8 , lies amongst the most collectivistic cultures in the world. Considering that is very important the work in group for the business, the Ecuador is going very well. But In the business world of Unites States the hiring and promotion decisions are based on merit or evidence of what one has done or can do. While in Ecuador many business decisions are based on friendly and conflict is avoided, in order to save face.
The dimension that gets most of my attention is the "Individualism vs. Collectivism" because the numbers are very different in the comparison between the U.S. and Ecuador. Ecuador is displayed as a totally collectivist country while the U.S. demonstrates that individualism is your best friend, so it seems that for people Ecuadorian the social relations are much more important than work individually. In spite of all this the American people has been more successful than our Ecuadorian people, then it is possible that collectivism is not necessarily a determinant of success and that individualism is not as bad as it thinks.
The dimension that most impressed me was Individualism, because individualism according to statistics in the United States has a score of 91, against Ecuador that has 8. In this way we can notice that the society of our country is essentially based on cooperation and collaboration between all, however, the United States is totally the contrary, because the United States society focuses on the care of themselves and not of the whole society, trying only to protect their things and people closest and careless the people around them. In conclusion U.S. society is almost totally interdependent while Ecuador people is dependent.
The dimension most impressed me is the individualism, because Ecuador has a punctuation of 8, while the U.S. has a punctuation of 91, the difference is very noticeable, therefore it can be said that people in Ecuador are collective, working together and support each other and seek to achieve a common goal, which can also achieve good relations forever. Moreover Americans believe are more important to meet responsibilities and activities independently. I think that individualism and collectivism are merged, because there are certain activities that will best perform them only, but there are others which already require the help of others.
The most interesting topic is the individualism. Ecuador has 8 points and United States has 91 points in the table. This is a big difference. At a score of 8 Ecuador is amongst the lowest individualistic scores; in other words, it finds amongst the most collectivistic cultures in the world. Ecuadorians like to work as a group always looking for joint goals, while Americans don´t like to work as a group, they prefer do things for themselves. Ecuadorians are solidary with members of their group. In conclusion teamwork is important because it allows us to meet individual and group goals making profits for all.
The dimension that impressed me most was Individualism because in this dimension United States is in the highest level (score 91) and Ecuador is in the lowest level (score 8). Therefore, Americans prefer do thing themselves while Ecuadorians prefers to work on group. I think that we should have a balance between individualism and collectivism. Working in group and achieving our goals are important but also we should have independence of our group. It doesn´t meant that we don´t help other and we think only in our benefits. If we work in group each member has to do its best to achieve the common goal.
The dimension that impressed me most was the individualism because Ecuador as a country not so developed has a score of 8, is amongst the lowest individualistic scores, in other words, it lies amongst the most collectivistic cultures in the world, while the United States has a score of 91 on this dimension, meaning that it is a highly individualistic culture. In Ecuador the relations are prioritized over tasks and groups can quickly enlarge their numbers. Moreover the U.S. expectation is that people take care of themselves and their immediate families. In conclusion, If we work together we can move forward against any obstacle.
The dimension that impressed me most was individualism. Ecuador is a so small country, it has thought in the collectivism and this decision has helped it to be better and to have a progress in its productivity, on the other hand The USA has thought in himself, despite this country does excellent business with his individualistic initiative has to think more in the collectivity because people can do better things because of they gain access in groups and they can include foreign people and for other hand they. So, people in the world have to act according individualistic in some aspects like approaching business opportunities but for other hand people need the another person and to work in team for developing relationships around the world.
“Power distance” The dimensión that impresses me most is it Power Distance betwen United States and Ecuador. United State has 40 percent and Ecuador has 78 percent, almost 50 percent most that United States. Is important mention that in Ecuador existed to most great inequality produced by the difference to riches between the big organizations and other people. In the Ecuador existed people that "work to life" and do not exist the policy of United States “liberty and justice for all", while do not exist its policy the ecuadorians will remain poor and the Ecuador country not will be competitive with others countries.
The dimension that most caught my attention was Individualism, because Ecuador has a score of 8, while the U.S.A has 91. This shows that Ecuador is focusing mostly on teamwork to achieve goals.
However this may be good to some extent because many times all the group members do not work to the same way and few people doing all the work. So I think we need to create the culture of that working group must work in the same way as if we were alone, perhaps for this reason people in the U.S.A prefer to work alone
The principal fact that calls my attention it´s about the individualism, there´s a huge difference between USA (93) and Ecuador (8) What grades this topic is the degree of interdependence a society maintains among it members. In an individualist society the members just look for his/her interests and for his/her family interests. In conclusion I think that there´s a good fact about USA and is that within the exchange-based world of work, hiring and promotion decisions are based on merit or evidence of what one has done or can do, against Ecuador that most of the time people hire friends, family and not according the capacity.
The dimension that impressed me the most is Power Distance, because as a big country the United States has more diversity of cultures, so I thought it would be more inequality among the people, but this does not happen. In Ecuador “a fairer country “ for me, the great difference between the middle, the upper or the powerful classes are seen as a common issue and all the people accept it. There is inequality in every society; however in countries like Ecuador this is more accepted and more expected in the daily act of people.
I´m pretty impressed about these dimensions, but especially for one that had almost catched my whole attention about the difference between Ecuador and USA in the "INDIVIDUALISM". Ecuador is one of the less individualist countries. It means that we prefer to keep our relations between ecuadorians, not like in USA. They just take care of theirselves and prefer business with people from other country. I really believe that is so important to have a good relation in our home, city or country and then we can socialize with other people
The cultural dimension that impacted me is the Individualism because of the rank difference between the United States and Ecuador. I think Americans are more individualistic than Ecuadorians, but also, I believe that the 8 percent is too high for Ecuadorians because, here in Ecuador people aren’t interdependent and they prefer to interact with people that they know very well, and in business, people prefer have a company with their family or friends. I think that the score of the United State is representative, and also, it identifies how life in the United States is.
Analyzed the graphs we can see that the United States has high and low dimensions and a comparison with Ecuador can see there is big difference between the two countries. For example at the level of equality with the United States and a low percentage in what regards individualism has a high percentage which shows that in this country there is equality and individualism reigns. But in Ecuador there is a high percentage equal which shows that in this country there is more equal and everyone has the same opportunities to achieve their objetives
The dimension that impresses me the most is Individualism between Ecuador and USA. USA has a score of 91 and Ecuador has 8, I think that in Ecuador the people are friendly and they like work together, while in USA people are more interested in success by themselves and their immediate families. I think that in Ecuador is a collectivist society where people belong to ‘in groups’ where work together and they work with their families and everyone seeking to get their objectives. For my people in Ecuador have a better lifestyle than Americans because they get along better with peers
